Business Management Group FAQs

What is the Business Management Group?
The Business Management Group (BMG) has been created by The PGA to bring the golf industry together and enable those who work in golf to receive training and networking opportunities under the umbrella of a single professional body – The PGA.

Who is it for?
BMG is for everyone who works in golf, whether they’re involved in golf clubs, hotels, travel, retail, equipment or any other golf business sector.

This membership is designed for anyone that isn’t already a member of The PGA.

Why should I join?
As a Member of BMG you have access to a whole suite of benefits which range from business support services to assist you during your work, to discounts on family days out and high street purchases. For more information about the benefits of joining BMG click here.

How much is membership?
Membership is £349 for 12 months.

Do I need to be working in golf to join?
Yes. BMG is about helping to support and develop the workforce of golf and will be open to everyone within the game. Applicants will have to demonstrate that they have a job in management within the golf industry to gain access.

Does this mean I’m a PGA Member?
Those who join the new membership groups will not be ‘Members’ of the Association or entitled to use the brand in the same way that full PGA Members can. We hope that BMG Members will develop a greater understanding of the importance and value of the PGA Professional, whilst also enhancing their own skills.

What sort of events can I attend?
As a Member of BMG, you have access to a comprehensive networking schedule, including a range of regional and national events, from informal golf days to breakfast meetings, building towards our inaugural Members conference in 2022.

What is the purpose of the group?
BMG is designed to give all of the people who make golf business happen the opportunity to join a professional body and be a part of what will become the leading industry network for knowledge sharing, networking and career development.

Why is The PGA doing this?
The PGA is keen to increase its influence specifically in relation to those that employ or engage with our PGA Pros. If The PGA were to better engage with the golf industry we would be able to shape and guide the future direction and take a broader and more significant role in the development of the game and participation. Offering a category of PGA Membership for all those involved in the business of golf will position The PGA at the heart of the industry.

What is the difference between BMG and other memberships?
BMG has been created to support the business of golf. This means that membership is designed to offer value to everyone from all sectors, regardless of experience. It gives everyone an opportunity to join a professional body and be part of what is hoped will become the leading industry network for knowledge sharing, networking and career development.

Who has joined BMG so far?
The PGA has welcomed decision makers and industry experts from all sectors of the industry representing some of the largest organisations in golf.
