The first port of call for any parent interested in getting their child into golf should be your local PGA pro.
You will find the majority of club pros will offer coaching, starter lessons, after school or weekend sessions and generally will be able to offer you the best advice on how to get started in your area including information about equipment.
The PGA and its members are also involved in a myriad of initiatives with bodies such as the England Golf Partnership, clubgolf Scotland, Golf Foundation, Young Masters Golf and a number of other Home Union schemes.
The Golf Foundation is also extremely active and has a vast range of schemes from Tri-Golf to Junior Starter Centres based at golf clubs and run by qualified PGA professionals.
