Ryder Cup star Padraig Harrington is among the entries for the Irish PGA Championship taking place at The European Club, Co Wicklow, from July 11 to 14.
The reigning European Tour Order of Merit winner will use the event to fine tune his links skills ahead of the Open Championship at Carnoustie the following week.
Harrington, who has been a great supporter of the domestic PGA Championship, will be gunning for his fourth Irish title following his triumph at Powerscourt in 1998 and back-to-back victories in 2004 and 2005 at St Margaret's and the PGA National respectively.
The championship clashes with the Barclay's Scottish Open at Loch Lomond but Irish Regional Secretary Michael McCumiskey anticipates a top quality line-up at The European Club with efforts being made to entice other Irish tour players.
Star attraction Harrington will face stiff competition from various home-based players, including defending champion David Mortimer, who won the title at Druid's Heath last year, and 1995 Ryder Cup hero Philip Walton, who won the Irish title four times between 1987 and 1995.
The European Club is hosting the tournament for the first time having previously hosted the Golfsure Irish Amateur Close Championship and Lancome Irish Ladies Championship last year.
The championship will be preceded by a pro-am on Tuesday, July 10.
The Irish PGA Championship was first played in 1907 at Royal Portrush. Ireland's 1958 World Cup winning duo Christy O'Connor senior and Harry Bradshaw hold the record with 10 victories apiece. Other multiple winners include Des Smyth (6), Paul McGinley (4) while Royal Dublin's Michael Moran won the title a record five times in a row between 1909 and 1913.
