Graham Farr will be hoping to use some of the techniques he learnt from KJ Choi to fire him to glory in the Ryder Cup Wales 2010 Welsh National PGA Championship next month.
Farr, who is the professional at Worcester Golf and Country Club, caddied for South Korean Choi while working in the USA in 2005.
He said: "Caddying for KJ was a great experience, especially because at the time he was 13th in the world. I did the job for around 12 weeks, and caddied at The Open, the US Open and US PGA.
"I also did the job when KJ was playing with players such as Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, and it was brilliant to watch players like that in action.
"I really enjoyed my time in the USA. I also did a lot of teaching while I was there, and got my PGA Instructors' badge."
But despite picking up tips from some of the world's greatest players, Farr is not setting any targets ahead of the Welsh National PGA Championship, which takes place at Cardiff Golf Club between September 4-6.
"I've not played much golf this year as most of my time is spent teaching, so I'm not going into the tournament with high expectations. But I'm really looking forward to travelling down there and playing," he added.
Ludlow Golf Club professional Daniel Francis is also relishing the prospect of taking part in the competition, which has a prize fund of £42,500.
Francis made the cut in the tournament last year, but his preparations this time have been hampered by an injury.
He said: "I've been having treatment on a back injury for the last month, so my run-in to the tournament hasn't been ideal. I've not picked up a club at all. But I'm feeling better now so hopefully things will be fine."
Llanymynech's Andrew Humphreys and Burghill Valley's Keith Preece will also be hoping to take the title from last year's winner Sion Bebb.
