Paul Streeter could have two chances to tackle The London Club after it was confirmed that this year's European Open will be staged at the Kent club.
The Southwell assistant pro, the reigning PGA Play-Offs champion, already has one potential date with the track as it hosts the Powerade PGA Assistants' Championship in association with FootJoy in mid-August.
But now the former Tour pro is in contention get an earlier glimpse of the course, which is staging the Assistants' Championship for a fourth successive year, with the prospect of a shot at the European Open - one of the four exemptions he is expected to have secured following his play-off victory at Notts GC last October.
It will be the first time since 1994 that the event will be played in England with the Jack Nicklaus-designed Heritage course playing host from July 3-6.
Fellow Midlander Simon Lilly of Wellingborough, who was runner-up at Notts and South Region Order of Merit winner Ant Tarchetti are also waiting for confirmation that they will play in the event as is Streeter, who played in the European Open in 2001 when he held a full playing card for the tour
The duo will take on the cream of Europe which will see eight-time European Tour Order of Merit winner Colin Montgomerie defending his title.
The London Golf Club becomes the seventh venue to host the European Open, following Walton Heath, Turnberry, Royal Liverpool, Sunningdale, East Sussex National and, for the past 13 years, The K Club in Co. Kildare, Ireland.
American Bobby Wadkins won the first European Open at Walton Heath in Surrey in 1978. Since then, eight Major Champions have captured the prestigious titles, namely Michael Campbell, Nick Faldo, Retief Goosen, Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Greg Norman and Ian Woosnam.
Montgomerie, who won his 31st European Tour title at The K Club in 2007, said: "I was delighted to be the last winner of the European Open at The K Club, after coming close there on a few occasions. That victory was very important in terms of my World Ranking. I am now looking forward to defending one of the most prestigious titles on The European Tour at The London Golf Club in July.
"It's great that we have a London venue on the Schedule. Having played there quite recently, I know that it will unquestionably provide a stern examination."
