Jet-setting Donald Stirling has been travelling around the world this winter in preparation for a busy season.
The holder of the Senior PGA Professional Championship is looking to defend his title at Northants County come May and has put in plenty of warm-weather training.
Based at Wien-Sussenbrunn, Austria, it is tough for the Englishman to get out and practice during the cold winter months. So he took the opportunity to jet out to Florida and Turkey to prepare.
"It's not particularly easy to play in Austria during the winter months so it was nice to get out to the warmer climates and get some sun on my back," said the 53-year-old.
"I wish we could've done this sort of thing 30-40 years ago, it would've made life so much better."
Stirling is looking forward to getting back into the swing of things and opens his season on May 28-30 when he defends his Senior PGA Professional crown.
"I cannot wait to get to Northants County and defend my title, I really like the course, I find most Harry Colt-designed courses suit my game," he added.
"I was so pleased to win the tournament last year and to win it again would be amazing. I've just got to prepare the way I always have done, to get that feel good factor, make sure I go into the tournament in reasonable shape and compete like I always have done."
There is plenty more Stirling has a keen eye on this year most notably spots in the British Seniors Open, De Vere Collection PGA Senior Championship and the inaugural Weston Homes PGA International Seniors.
Stirling could have had a place in all three already booked but just missed out on his European Seniors Tour card last year.
"It was disappointing to miss out as I thought I had a good chance. I somehow managed to get sciatica in Portugal despite the warm weather and I didn't really recover from that in time for the Q School," he said.
"I put in a good front nine, but the final nine was poor and I missed out."
Stirling has yet to decide if he'll try again for his Tour card this year, but one thing he will be going for is a hat-trick of Austrian International Seniors Open titles.
The tournament has only been in existence for two years and Stirling has claimed both titles.
"It's not a massive tournament and the prize money isn't great, but it's still an amazing feeling to win," he admitted.
