Reigning Suffolk PGA stroke-play champion Andrew Collison fired rounds of 71 and 69 to finish two shots clear of all rivals in the second PGA East Region qualifying tournament at Sandy Lodge.
The Bungay and Waveney Valley pro collected the £300 first prize despite an inauspicious start which saw him have a double bogey on the second hole of his first round.
Collison, a three time winner on the Challenge Tour circuit, birdied the 171 yard third hole on both rounds and was the most consistent player in the field.
Runner-up was Richard May of Welwyn Garden City who collected £200 thanks to securing five birdies on his final 11 holes on the second day.
Tom Hide of Frinton was third at three over par. Jamie Lowe of Lexden Wood staged the most spectacular recovery.
His opening round of 83 seemed to have out him out of contention but he hit back with a best of day 68 in the second round with three birdies and only one dropped shot.
The top 50 players are now exempt for having to qualify for all six order of merit event arranged for this season.
