Bob Stocker, well known as a PGA East Region starter for events in Hertfordshire for the past six years, has died at the age of 70.
A retired British Airways pilot, he had been a member at Verulam Golf Club for 18 years.
He organised the Verulam pro-am, and various charity events for Dreamflight which provides holidays for seriously ill and disabled children.
John Smith, the PGA East Region secretary, said: "Bob had many friends in golf and will be sadly missed on the East Region circuit. We extend condolences to his wife Mavis and his family."
