Pontypool's Joanne Pritchard and Devon's Tracy Loveys both carded level-par 73s to share victory in the Ryder Cup Wales 2010 WPGA One-Day Series in Cardiff.
Loveys, who was out in one of the earlier groups, set the pace despite starting with two bogeys after three-putting on the first and second greens.
However, after that the 38-year-old from Bigbury Golf Club started to turn things around and four birdies and only two further dropped shots in her last 15 holes saw her come in at level par.
Pritchard had a similar start, bogeying the first and third, but then had four successive birdies to put her two under through seven.
Unfortunately that run could not last and she dropped a shot at the ninth.
Another birdie came at the 417-yard 13th but three bogeys and a birdie in her final four holes saw her fall back to level par.
The pair shared the first prize and the points for the Order of Merit but Loveys declined the offer of a place at the S4C Wales Ladies Championship of Europe - a Ladies European Tour event - in August despite having the better back nine on countback.
That allowed Pritchard to take up the offer - for which she was grateful.
"I was quite pleased with my round. I think everyone came in and said they left shots out there," said the 26-year-old, who only returned from a Ladies European Tour event in Holland on Sunday night.
"Getting into the Wales Ladies was an aim of mine and to get it in the second event (of seven in this one-day series) is great because it will take the pressure off heading into the other ones.
"And it was nice to come back from Holland (where she missed the cut by three shots) and get a good result."
The performance took her second in the Order of Merit after two events, trailing leader Laura Eastwood (Tavistock) by a point after she finished joint third in Cardiff.
Loveys is up to third by virtue of this one performance and she was pleased, if not a little surprised, to have done so well with so little preparation.
"I could have been four or five shots better if my putting had been better," she said.
"Tee to green I was very pleased but when I three-putted the first and second I was under pressure straight away."
Loveys, who has been the professional at Bigbury since January, admitted she declined the offer of a place at the Wales Ladies as her club job means she cannot dedicate enough time to playing.
"To play in a Ladies European Tour event I need to be playing and practising more and with my new role at Bigbury I haven't got the time," she added.
