A quartet of last year's PGA National Pro-Am Championship grand finalists go head to head next week aiming for a quick-fire return to Turkey.
Tournament runners-up West Berkshire, led by professional Paul Simpson, will cross paths with Tidworth Garrison, Millbrook and Olton when they line up in the regional final of Europe's biggest pro-am at Frilford Heath on Monday June 23.
But with just one spot on offer, competition for the all expenses paid trip to the Sirene Beach & Hotel Resort and Antalya Golf Club is expected to be tense with more than 60 teams in the field.
Simpson, who finished one shot off forcing a play-off at last year's final staged on the PGA Sultan Course, admits the desire to get back outweighs his form as he prepares for another crack, this time partnered by Andrew Stephenson, who plays off 14.
"It was good fun last year and it would be great to get back there but I'd have to say my form isn't great at the moment," said Simpson.
"I can't put my finger on it; it's just one of those things. But with the pro-am it also depends on who your partner is and how they do on the day.
"I've got a good guy with me so I've got a chance."
Millbrook pro Rob Brightman qualified in Yorkshire last year and went on to tie in sixth place with then partner Richard Langham, despite the fact his amateur was suffering the effects of a severe sting on the arm.
This time Brightman's going for a venue much closer to home and is relishing the prospect of taking on his fellow grand finalists.
"It should spice it up, that's for sure," said Brightman, who will be partnered by 26-year-old site manager Scott Dunbar - a 15 handicapper.
"I'm looking forward to playing as I really want to get back to the final this year. It was a Christmas bonus."
Tidworth Garrison, who finished fourth last year under the guidance of pro Charlie Gold, will this time be led by head professional Terry Gosden who will be partnered by 14-handicapper Mark Wycherley.
Making up the foursome is Olton's Charles Haynes, who has switched qualifying venues from Whittington Heath - where he qualified last year - to the Oxfordshire course. He will be joined by David Harding, who plays off 11.
They will not be the only past finalists in the field looking to secure a place in the final as Cricklade Hotel's Ian Bolt and Hendon's Matthew Deal are both looking to follow up their appearance in 2005.
Other clubs looking to reach the final include Bicester, Calcot Park, Chippenham, Hendon, Mid Sussex, Shrewsbury and West Middlesex.
The tournament, which attracts more than 100,000 entries, is now in its 24th staging and has been held in Portugal, Spain, Grand Bahamas and Sardinia prior to Turkey last year.
This year's grand final, played over the PGA Sultan course at Antalya Golf Club, has a professional prize fund of £30,000 and is being played from November 30 to December 4.
