Chris Russell saved his best for last as he claimed his first Tartan Tour order of merit title in the final counting event of the season at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire.
The East Lothian-based pro closed with a fine four-under 68 in the Callaway/Audi 36-holer for a three-under aggregate of 141 and a three shot victory over Ladybank's Alan Lockhart.
Russell, the son of former European Tour winner DJ, had been sharing seventh place at the start of the day but surged to the top with a tidy round in testing conditions which included three birdies in his last five holes.
Lockhart, who shared the lead at halfway, had to settle for the runners-up spot on 144 after a 73 while former Challenge Tour winner David Patrick secured third with a 72 for 145.
Chris Doak, who has won five order of merit titles on the domestic circuit this season to book his place in the end of season Srixon PGA Play-Offs, shared eighth place on 148 with Alan Reid and the 1999 Italian Open champion Dean Robertson.
