Barry Austin ended the West Region PGA playing season in style by winning the rearranged Oake Manor pro-am.
The Devon Open champion shot four-under 66 to take the individual prize with a flawless round. He made three birdies in the first four holes in a front nine of 32. He added another at the par-five 17th.
He held a one-shot advantage over Jon Bevan (Wessex Golf Centre) who finished with two birdies and a par to stay two shots ahead of Simon Stevenson (Taunton and Pickeridge), Nick Korynevsky (The Bristol), Andy Beal (Hamptworth) and Ian Harrison (The Golf Centre).
European Tour winner David Dixon linked up with his usual buddies from Vivary Park to win the team event.
But the Vivary Boys must have felt their luck was out when the big-hitting winner of this year's St Omer Open smashed his first tee shot 300 yards to the left and lost his ball.
But Dixon recovered to finish on one-over-par 71 and made enough birdies to help Steve Lowe, James Symonds and Mark Popham reach 24-under-par 126 and beat Darren Everett's Portmore team on a better back six.
Enmore Park life member Dixon, who now represents Spanish resort Arcos Gardens, also led the Vivary team into sixth place in the Cornish Festival where he won the pro individual award.
Scotsman Stevenson, a PGA tutor, spends less time than ever on the course now he is in charge of golf at his club so he was delighted with his form.
Fortunately the weather was bright and sunny so late in the season- a sharp contrast to the original day when the event was postponed - as the 39 teams just managed to finish with a few minutes daylight remaining.
David Haines (Brean) was involved in a three-way tie at the top with former European Tour stars Andrew Sherborne (Kendleshire) and Stuart Little (Minchinhampton) in the re-arranged Waverley TBS Pro-pro-am, supported by Johnnie Walker, at Woodbury Park. They each carded seven-under-par 66.
