David Hutton (Hamptworth) tasted victory for the first time this summer with a record-equalling round of six-under-par 64 at Ashley Wood.
The mark was previously set by Remedy Oak director of golf Nigel Tokely and Kevin Spurgeon (Ferndown), who is currently 18th on the European Senior Tour Order of Merit.
Both were in the field but finished out of the money as Hutton sped to four-under-par after five holes with birdies at the first and fifth and an eagle at the third.
He dropped shots at the eighth and tenth but further birdies at 11, 12 and 15 brought a two-stroke advantage over Paul Jones (Canford Magna) with the in-form pair of Chris Gill (Exeter) and Adam Constable (Cardiff) a further shot back.
Hutton completed a double as he also led in the winning team of home members.
