Craig Cowper scored his first career win on the AGH Pro-Am Tour with victory in this month's California Classic Pro-Am.

Cowper, a professional at New Malden's World of Golf, secured top spot in Palm Springs with a cumulative 12-under-par for his 72 holes.

The 39-year-old, who finished third on the South Region Order of Merit, denied his region's No 1 performer Andrew Raitt (St George's Hill) who finished a stroke further back, with Kettering's Simon Lilly - the record winner on the Pro-Am Tour - third at nine-under-par.

A final round 71 over the celebrity Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort ensured Cowper his maiden success after Raitt - who had been leading since day one - closed with a 75.

The California Classic Pro-Am, the second event of the series, was also played at The Classic Club, PGA West Nicklaus Course and Desert Willow Mountain View.
