The idyllic paradise of the Bahamas awaits the finalists of this year's Virgin Atlantic PGA National Pro-Am Championship, supported by SkyCaddie.

Tournament sponsors Virgin Atlantic, the UK's long haul specialists, have revealed that this year's final will be staged at luxury Sandals Emerald Bay resort on Great Exuma in November after extending their sponsorship of Europe's biggest pro-am to 2011.

And entries are now open for the 36-hole grand final, which will feature 16 teams from across Great Britain and Ireland, will be played over the Greg Norman-designed course at Emerald Reef Golf Club.

Norman has crafted a challenging course with the front nine holes weaving their way through scenic mangroves, while the back nine hug the coastline.

The new grand final venue, which will stage the event from November 23-28, is expected to raise the profile of the tournament, which has enjoyed a string of luxurious destinations including Spain, Portugal, Italy and Turkey.

But the switch to Grand Exuma sees a return to Bahamas for the tournament having been staged in Grand Bahama between 1986-88.

Given the exciting destination, the PGA anticipates competition to reach this year's grand final to be keenly contested given the jewel of a prize - in addition to the £30,000 professional prize fund.

The 16 teams that qualify for the final will be treated to very best in hospitality as the Emerald Bay boasts being the very first 'all butler' resort. In addition it has two pools, five bars, a spa, a world class marina and accommodation with stunning ocean views.

The quest to reach the grand final begins at Devon's Saunton Golf Club in early May with the last qualifier in July at Royal Porthcawl. In between there will be 14 other qualifiers across the length and breadth of Great Britain and Ireland.
