Mark Hooper of Rayleigh Driving Range and Steve Cipa of South Essex both fired five-under-par 66s to share first prize in the Essex PGA Pro-Am at Channels Golf Club.
A shot further behind in joint third were the unattached Jack Clarke, who plays on the PGA Europro Tour, and Johnnie Fryatt of Thorpe Hall.
Matt Stables of South Essex was fifth with three-under-par 68. Roger Gray of Thorndon Park took sixth place with two-under-par on a day of low scoring.
Darren Parker of Maylands led the winning team of Ben Griffiths and James Smith with 83 Stableford points. Cipa, John Judd and Eddie Martin were one shot behind.
Third place, on count back, went to Mark Angel of Colchester with Ian Devenish and Brendan Booth.
The previous day Mark Stokes of Rayleigh Driving Range won the rearranged Essex PGA Winter League event at Chelmsford Golf Club with two-under-par 66. He beat Cipa by one shot and Hooper by two. The leading trainee with two over par 70 was Mark Talbott of Thorpe Hall.
