Home course advantage helped Chris Benians win the Cornwall County Professional Golfers' Alliance meeting at West Cornwall.
Benians, 34, once nursed ambitions to play on a higher stage than the West Region circuit for years and did share second place in the Reebok PGA Assistants Championship at Heron's Reach, Blackpool when he was 22.
But he is now back home at St Ives. He plotted his way round the links in level par 69 for 36 stableford points to win the professional individual award for the first time this season.
Dominic Rehaag (China Fleet) and Richard Sadler (Killiow) trailed by three shots with Richard O'Hanlon (Lanhydrock) a further shot back in fourth.
But Sadler won the fourball, thanks to his amateur partner Danny Downing (Truro) who made a significant contribution to the pair's 41 points, two clear of Benians and partner Mike Treacey. Nick Rogers (Falmouth) and Dave Holland were a further shot back.
The day had been rearranged after the scheduled meeting in November had been rained off.
