Mark 'Colonel' Sanders (Knowle) has been in unstoppable form during March as he completed a hat-trick of Gloucester and Somerset PGA Medal victories.
On a perfect day for low scoring in Minehead, which was re-arranged having being postponed due to the snow in January, Sanders popped in seven birdies en-route to a five-under-par 66.
Going out he picked up shots at the 3rd, 5th and 7th and added four more at 11th, 13th, 15th and 17th on the way home.
He did drop a shot at the 16th after a poor drive and narrowly avoided a disaster at Minehead's dangerous par 3 18th hole.
His tee shot was buried in the sand dune on the right of the green. He fluffed his first attempt but then played the shot of the day to lip the hole and finish close enough for a tap-in bogey.
But as it turned out he had shots in hand and finished three ahead of Giuseppe Licata (Hambrook) who also posted seven birdies as well as five bogeys.
The ever consistent George Ryall, who returned the previous day from a successful two-week Far East trip on the European Senior Tour, shared second, despite carrying a hand injury he picked up in Brunei.
Ryall has now moved back into the lead on the Order of Merit where he holds a very slim advantage over David Haines (Brean).
G&S PGA captain Andrew March (Brean) and home professional George Hampshire matched the par of 71 to share fourth place.
