Martin Adams wishes the season would never end after a blistering run of form that has seen him win three events out of four.

The Swanmore PGA Assistant pro celebrated his first tournament on foreign soil by winning the PGA in Hampshire Overseas Pro-Am at Vila Sol-Prime.

Adams finished the fourball stableford on 106 points and picked up £800 in prize money in the process. His group also won the team competition.

Order of Merit winner Adam Hickling of Stoneham and Romsey’s Elliot Groves came tied second, two points behind  after three days of stiff competition in the Portuguese sunshine.

Adams, who came second in The PGA in Hampshire OoM, said: “I have never had such a good run in all my years as a pro, so I do not want the season to end!

“I had to work hard to finish top. I was not really comfortable at the start as it was the first time I had played abroad in a pro tournament.

“The conditions were not something I was used to.  The grass was different, it was a tight course and I was four over after 12 holes on the first day .

“But I have confidence in my game. I think I have always had the ability to grind back and I found a way to stay in contention.”

Before arriving in Portugal, Adams had won pro-ams held by Alresford Ladies and Camberley, and came third at The PGA in Hampshire's Alliance Winter Series Pro-Am.
