George Ryall returned from an unsuccessful bid in Portugal to regain his European Seniors' Tour card to win the Gloucester and Somerset PGA medal at Clevedon, his former home club.

Now a teaching pro at Worlebury he won for the third time this season with a three-under-par return of 69.

He started wth a bogey before posting the first of six birdies at the fourth. A run of five birdies in six holes from the ninth set up his round.

He beat Order of Merit leader Giuseppe Licata (Chipping Sodbury), who made three birdies and dropped only one shot, by one stroke. It was his fifth runners-up spot of the season.

Ed Goodwin (Cirencester) threatened to post a low number by making five successive birdies from the tenth to reach four under. But he dropped late shots to finish third.

Henbury assistant Luke Derrick and Filton's Daryl Kelley also carded 71.

Derrick's mixed bag of a round contained seven birdies but he dropped too many shots. Kelly added four birdies and shed three shots in compiling his best round of the season.
