Bullen Cruises To Royal Blackheath Victory

Rustington Golf Centre’s Michael Bullen has made the first move in the opening Pro-Am of the 2019 PGA South season, cruising to a three stroke victory over his nearest rival, Wentworth’s LET star Annabel Dimmock.

The 2018 PGA Southern Professional Champion, Bullen shot a six-under 65 to take the winner’s cheque for a cool £850 in a round that included five birdies on the trot from the sixth to the 10th.

Posting a three-under-par 68, Dimmock finished with two birdies down the last two holes for 68 to edge the 69 of Christopher Croucher into third spot.

Bullen was delighted with his early season performance, saying: “As usual, Royal Blackheath laid on a terrific day golf for all involved and it’s a great way to kick off the season proper.”

He added: “My driving and approach shots were right on target, setting up birdies on all the par fives and a pretty hot day with the putter when dealing with the other holes!”

Even his six-under-par 65 wasn’t enough to get Bullen’s team anywhere near the winner’s enclosure, as Hever Castle’s Ryan Salliss led his amateurs to an impressive score of -14 to take the main spoils of the Titleist & FootJoy supported prize table.
