Curtis Excels In Tough Conditions At Weston Super Mare

Bude and North Cornwall assistant Adam Curtis continued his bright start to the new season by winning the third of five Titleist/Footjoy Sprint Series tests for assistants and professionals under 30 at Weston-super-Mare.

In difficult conditions on a wet and windy day by the seaside he finished with an exceptional three under par 67 and now lead the series.

This follows fourth place at Radyr and a tie for 12th in the Asbri Cornish Festival .

He made a birdie at the third and followed with an eagle three at the 13th. Although he dropped three shots his impressive round finished with three birdies over the final six holes.

Ryan Haskell Pyle & Kenfig was the only other player to finish under par. His round was boosted by an eagle on the 13th and three successive birdies from the eighth.

Matt Turner (Oake Manor), Mark Pitcher (Stinchcombe Hill) and
Craig Melding (Neath) shared third on level par 70. Melding also made an eagle two at the driveable tenth.
