Dale Hill Captain’s Day Pro-Am Success

Over 100 players assembled to take part in the annual Captain’s Day at Dale Hill Hotel & Golf Club last week. But this was to be a Captain’s Day unlike any other as the Dale Hill Club Captain for 2019 is none other than Ian Pether of CK Group, one of the PGA South’s main Associates.
The event was supported by Greenall’s Gin who provided prizes and gin tasting on the 1st tee, which along with a mobile bar on the 10th tee meant the players were well ‘refreshed’ during the round.
CK Group also sponsored European and Challenge Tour PGA Professional Matt Ford, and provided a Beat the Pro on the 10th, while Brand Fusion also provided a Finn Scooter for the Captain to keep track of all the players on the course.
22 invited PGA Professionals each led a four strong team of Dale Hill’s club members playing in a novel ‘three from five’ format. PGolfCoaching@Pedham’s Adam Clough team of four club members swept the board, winning by six strokes after producing a 20-under-par* card.
Clough’s team comprised Dale Hill club members Bill Milford Jnr, Martin Price, Paul Seager and Michael Ray, each of whom landed Callaway golf bags and some Greenall’s Gin.
St. George’s Hill star Andy Raitt led his team of Neil Gray, Simon Robertson, Barry Newton and Kyle Newton to second place on -14, edging the team led by Hever Castle’s Elliot Owens of Michael Gibb, Stuart Fowlie, Bryn Pepper and Stuart MacFarlane into third spot overall.
The day ended with an auction and prize draw in aid of Prostate Cancer, and that charity will end up with a donation from the Captain and Dale Hill of well over £6,000.
