The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour is delighted to announce Desert Springs Resort in Spain will host the season finale Tour Championship for a third year, October 24th – 26th October, 2019.

Desert Springs Resort, Europe’s only international award-wining luxury family resort and championship golf course in the Almanzora region of Almeria in south-east Spain, played host to the Tour Championship in 2016 and 2015 and such was the success of the tournament that Europe’s leading developmental tour will see out its season on the resort’s Indiana Course.

Only the top 60 golfers on the tour’s Race to Desert Springs after the final event of the regular season at Newmachar Golf Club qualify to play the Tour Championship, which carries an increased prize fund.

Inspired by the famous desert courses of Arizona & California, the Indiana Course at Desert Springs Resort is Europe’s only award-winning desert course and presents unforgettable views, and golf of such a dramatic nature that it has taken golf in south-eastern Spain to a new level of excellence.

The course is framed within a panorama of landmark mountain ranges. The contrast between the beautifully prepared and manicured course and the arid yet vividly coloured desert captures the very essence of the Indiana Course.

The best players on Europe’s leading developmental tour will be competing to seal their place in the top five of the Race To Desert Springs at the end of the week and earn themselves a Challenge Tour card for the 2019 season.

The event will be filmed for a two-hour highlights package to air on Sky Sports in the UK in November, and on networks worldwide.

Simon Coaker, Director of Golf at Desert Springs Resort, said: “Desert Springs Resort is both delighted and honoured to have been invited to be host to the Tour Championship for what is now a third occasion.

“The PGA EuroPro Tour has played a vital part in the early careers of some of the biggest names in golf who have gone on to achieve great success, paving the way for Ryder Cup Players, Major Winners and European Tour Winners.

“For Desert Springs Resort and the Indiana course to be part of the journey that the best players in Europe travel, is a factor of both benefit and prestige to all at the Resort.

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming the class of 2018 to Desert Springs Resort and providing them with a wonderful experience.”

Daniel Godding, Chief Executive Officer at the HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour said: “We are delighted to be heading back to Desert Springs Resort this October.

“We have some fantastic memories from our first two years there, and because of that immense success I am thrilled to continue our partnership with the Resort in 2018. The Indiana Course is a jewel of Almeria and I’m confident that the team at Desert Springs Resort will ensure that we have a successful Tour Championships as they have done in the past. I would also like to thank Andalusian Tourism for sponsoring the event and for welcoming us back to this fantastic resort.”
