Paul O’Hara continued his rich vein of form by chalking up an eighth win of the season at the Drumpellier Golf Club Pro-Am on Saturday.

The 30-year-old continued his season to remember with another victory after shooting a seven-under par round of 64 to win by three shots.

The North Lanarkshire Leisure man enjoyed an impressive round which saw him pick up eight birdies in total and one bogey.

O’Hara was two-under par through the opening nine holes, but five birdies on the back nine, including three in a row at the 13th, 14th and 15th earned him the top prize of £1,191.

Graham Fox (Clydeway) had led the event for some time after reaching the half-way point one shot ahead of O’Hara on three-under par. But this bogey free round included just one more birdie at the 15th as he finished on four-under par to finish runner-up and claim £953.

Third-placed Christopher Currie (Caldwell) also kept a bogey off his card in returning a 68 for a £715 payslip.

Paul McKechnie had a hole-in-one at the 12th (151yd) with a seven-iron on his way to a par round of 71.

Gavin Hay (Grantown on Spey), who earned £131 for a 72, more than doubled his money by leading the First Vehicle Leasing amateur trio of Donnie Watson (handicap 6), Andy Watson (9) and Gary Sword (9) to victory by one stroke with a net score of 126.

The pros attached to the leading five pro-am teams each earned an additional £153 - Hay, S Gray, C Gordon, G Fox and G Paxton.
