Former PGA captain John Barnett passes away

The PGA regrets to announce the sad news that John Barnett, the Association’s captain from 1997-99 and Member for more than 40 years, has passed away.

John, who was 67, qualified as a PGA Professional in 1976 and was made an honorary Member following his spell as captain. He was head PGA professional at Royal St David’s, Harlech, for many years until his retirement in 2012.

The PGA expresses its heartfelt condolences to Beryl, John’s wife, and his children, Andrew, who is also a PGA Professional, and Jayne.

John's funeral service will be held at St Tanwg's Church, Harlech, at midday on Saturday June 10. It will be followed by internment at New Cemetery, Harlech, and refreshments at Royal St David's Golf Club.
