David Higgins (Waterville) added another win to an already successful season with a battling success at the Dunfanaghy Pro-Am.

The Kerry golfer posted a two round total of four under par (65/67) in wet and windy conditions on the Co Donegal coast to secure his fourth victory of the season.
Mark Staunton (Delgany GC) finished a shot back following a brilliant second round three under par 65 on a day when just four players managed to beat par.

Overnight leader, Damien Mooney, who opened with a six under par 62, carded a second round 73 to finish in a tie for fourth.

This was an important win for Higgins who has set his sights on the 2017 Order of Merit title.
The 44-year-old has ground to make up on reigning champion, Damien McGrane, who has jumped out to a 2000 point lead following his win at the recent JustGolf.ie Heritage Challenge.

The team event was won by Ted Higgins (Mount Wolseley Golf &CC) and playing partners Peter Sullivan, Mark Sullivan and Ruth Sullivan who finished with a total of 181 (93/88)
