Introducing your new-look Members’ magazine – PGA Monthly

03/02/2022

The PGA is proud to unveil a new-look Members’ magazine – PGA Monthly – which will support and champion PGA Managers, PGA Coaches and PGA Professionals.

The Members’ magazine is a more modern, fast-moving and aspirational proposition than its predecessor - PGA Professional.

A new name better reflects the modern PGA Membership, which has seen the introduction of the PGA Coach and PGA Manager categories in recent years, alongside that of the traditional PGA Professional.

Representing all Members

PGA Monthly aims to represent PGA Members in all regions equally and we want to create an environment where they can learn, reflect and take inspiration from their peers every month.

The magazine will provide PGA Members with insight into how The PGA can support them throughout your chosen careers, using your expertise alongside that of PGA Partners, to provide thought leadership on key topics.

Inform, educate and entertain

“We want to maintain the Members’ magazine as a key Member benefit,” said Richard Barker, PGA Executive Director - Business Development. “It’s all part of our modernising agenda to constantly improve on what we offer to our Members. We’ve aimed to reinvigorate the magazine and make sure that every single page is working hard to inform and entertain you.

“PGA Monthly is just one of our communication channels in an age when we all consume information in very different ways. Together with pga.info, our weekly PGA Connect newsletter, PGA Live webinars, PGA Learn and our social media channels, PGA Monthly will ensure we are producing great content in whichever way you would like to consume it.”

Broad range of topics covered

Many issues will carry a specific theme, ranging from sustainability and retail to tech and wellbeing. These topics will be covered with the support of informed contributions from PGA Members and PGA Partners.

Regular monthly contributions include an Opening Up section to share with Members what they need to know from their PGA and the wider golf industry. A fresh look for careers will feature latest jobs, interviews with Members and helpful advice on a variety of career development topics, from job hunting and CVs to interview techniques.

Members will be able to update their knowledge in key areas like business, retail and management through dedicated PGA Learn pages, while a new About The PGA page gives PGA staff a chance to introduce themselves and their work to Members.

More accessible and relevant

Recognising that many people now use electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablets to consume content, PGA Monthly will also be made available digitally. The digital version of the magazine will be easier to read and include lots more features, including links and videos to enhance your reading experience.

PGA Monthly will be packed full of MORE inspirational and regional content, MORE attention has gone into its presentation, and MORE effort has gone into ensuring PGA Members are at the heart of the magazine.

Barker added: “PGA Monthly will support and champion Members month in, month out. The Association has invested in the quality of both the content and presentation and we feel the magazine offers a rounded view of the   diverse membership categories and roles that you fulfil.”

If you want to share any feedback with us, or would like to feature in a future issue of PGA Monthly, then please contact our Head of Communications, Richard Green (email richard.green@pga.org.uk).

The first issue of the new PGA Monthly magazine will be dispatched around the 11th February, with the digital version available shortly before that. Keep an eye out for further details.
