Josh Hall

Josh Hall claimed the PGA North Assistants’ Championship crown after a close encounter at Kendal club Carus Green.

But it was tight battle for the Liverpool-based Allerton Manor player who eventually denied Lancaster’s Thomas Pearl in a sudden death play-off after posting one-over-par scores of 71.

The duo returned to the course and played the first hole twice before Hall took the honour with a par and a £330.00 boost for his bank balance.

He said: “It was tough at the start of the round because of heavy rain but the course soon recovered and we played in good conditions.”

Hall also revealed that he has hardly played because of his commitment to his club.
“I only started there last month,” he explained.

Leading Scores

71 Josh Hall (Allerton Manor), Thomas Pearl (Lancaster); 72 Daniel Croft (Mersey Valley); 73 Matthew Smith (Manchester), Gareth Roberts (Llandudno), Joe Coyle (Hull); 74 Rhodri Fieldhouse (Clays).
