Local knowledge aids Kennedy

Lloyd Kennedy used his local knowledge of the Woolston Manor course to win the Essex PGA Championship.
After the feast of scoring the previous day in the Pro-Am, the weather made it slightly more difficult for the 36-hole Championship.
The first round saw Kennedy set a stiff target of four-under par 68 which was good enough for a two-shot lead over Robert Coles.
Jason Levermore came down to earth after his record breaking round in the Pro-Am. Levermore shot 11-under par the previous day, but this time around he shot a one-over par 73, leaving him with ground to make up in the afternoon.
This he did by returning af five-under par 67 to set a target of four-under par for the 36 holes.
Coles came in with a round of two-uner par 70, which meant that Kennedy had to guard against any mistakes to lift the trophy for a second time.
Another impressive round of 69 followed which means the trophy will now stay at Woolston Manor for the next 12 months, with Kennedy winning by three shots on nine-under par.
The Seniors trophy was shared by David Wood from Orsett Golf Club and Sean Carter from High Beach Golf Club, with both recording a two-round total of six-over par.
