Fraser Mckenna

Caldwell’s Fraser McKenna won the Young Pros' Order of Merit Sprint Series Tournament by two shots at Turnberry's King Robert the Bruce course on Tuesday.

McKenna headed a field of 46 players to take home the first prize of £300 after carding an almost faultless round of five-under par 67.

He made a bright start by picking up birdies at the first and third before picking up back-to-back birdies at the seventh and eighth. McKenna’s only bogey came at the ninth, but he recovered to collect birdies at the 14th and 18th.

Runner-up Thomas Higson (Gleneagles) finished two shots back on 69 which earned him £200. His round included five birdies, one at the 18th and two bogeys in halves of 35 and 34.

Cameron West (Scotscraig) and Graeme McDougall (Elie Links) tied for third place on the par-72 mark and earned £137.50 each.
