Cian McNamara fired a five under par 64 to win the Delgany Pro-Am supporting the Down Syndrome Centre.

The Monkstown professional finished the day two shots ahead of Daniel Beattie (Deer Park Golf) and Damien McGrane.

Starting his round on the 11th, Cian played his opening eight holes in three under par, which included an eagle two at the short par four 13th when he holed out from 80 yards with a wedge.

He picked up three further birdies after he turned for home, his only dropped shot coming at the par four fourth.

“It was a nice score and I was happy to pick up my first Pro-Am win of the season,” said the 31-year-old who has reduced his playing schedule this season to focus on his role at Monkstown.

“I've actually been playing pretty solidly and have been driving it well all season which has been keeping me in the game but at Delgany I also managed to hole a few putts.”

Craddockstown's Glen Robinson and amateur partners Paul Farrar, John Kinane and Fiona Farrar won the team prize with 97 points.
