Brakes become PGA’s preferred supplier

The PGA has announced a new trade relationship with distribution company Brakes, one of Europe’s leading foodservice suppliers.

With more than 20 distribution centres across the UK, Brakes deliver around half a million boxes to over 25,000 customer sites each day.

Using circa 2,000 vehicles from an extensive network of distribution hubs and depots, Brakes has spent 60 years in the foodservice industry.

They have a wealth of experience working with top brands to ensure there is a range that is suitable for its customers and relevant for the pro shop consumer.

Commenting on the new relationship, Paul Lowe, New Business Manager at Brakes, said: “This is an exciting partnership for us and we feel we provide the right service and convenience to suit PGA Members.

“We have strong, long-standing relationships with a huge range of big brands, which enables us to offer PGA Members fantastic regular promotions inside the easy to use Brakes online ordering system.

“With a team of experts behind each category, Brakes can also offer support with industry insight and updates, including information and assistance on the new soft drinks levy (Sugar Tax).

“We have depots spread across the country stocked and ready to support the requirements of PGA Members. With pro’s time being so precious, having a delivered service to your door will save you time and resource, while you can focus on growing your own business.”

PGA Members will be able to use the fast and efficient service to stock products from PGA Partners Coca Cola, Mars and The Primal Pantry. In addition, Brakes also have other products available from Walkers, Lucozade and Irn Bru.

Over 400 new accounts have already been activated by PGA Members, and have access to exclusive offers as part of the new trade relationship.
