PGA Play takes centre stage at British Golf Show

15/08/2023

Four PGA Professionals delivered free golf lessons to hundreds of people as part of the Association’s drive to showcase PGA Play at the 2023 British Golf Show.

Bedfordshire’s Denise Hastings, David Playdon, of Nailcote Hall, Bramshaw’s David Bartlett and Neil Williams, of Christy-Clover Golf Academy, provided tips on all areas of the game at the event at Wycombe Air Park, in Buckinghamshire.

From demonstrating short-game drills to putting techniques and long-game tips through dedicated Foresight Sports simulators and launch monitors, the pros worked with both golfers and non-golfers during the course of the event, which attracted more than 10,000 people across two days.

“It’s the third British Golf Show I’ve done, and I always want to go back because it’s something a little bit different,” Bartlett (pictured) said.

“It gives us an opportunity to target people who don’t play golf because some of the people I gave lessons to were here for the non-golf elements of the show. Therefore, it’s a really good opportunity for us to showcase golf to an audience we wouldn’t ordinarily reach.”

Williams (pictured), who was working at his first British Golf Show, added: “It’s an incredible honour to have the opportunity to showcase my passion for golf and help fellow golfers enhance their game.

“Over the course of the event, I had the privilege of working with 47 talented golfers, assisting them in refining their techniques and achieving their golfing goals. Seeing their progress and witnessing their dedication has been truly rewarding.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the British Golf Show and David Bartlett for providing this platform to connect with fellow enthusiasts, share knowledge, and contribute to the golfing community. It’s a remarkable opportunity to learn from industry experts, discover innovative equipment and forge meaningful connections with fellow golf lovers.”

Hundreds of the biggest brands in golf attended the show, including PGA Partners St. James’s Place, Lavazza and Foresight Sports Europe.

The following PGA Branded Properties were also in attendance: PGA National Cyprus (Aphrodite Hills), PGA National England (The Belfry), PGA National Turkey (Antalya Golf Club) and PGA Golf Academy Carden Park.

The British Golf Show is returning to Wycombe Air Park in 2024. The event will run from 17-18 May and promises to be full of exciting brands, the latest technology and much more.
