Silent support for The PGA Benevolent Fund

Stuart Collier

A silent auction has been set up by PGA Director of Golf, Stuart Collier, and his team of nine other Professionals at Stoke Park’s Pro’s Day this Saturday in support of The PGA Benevolent Fund.

The Stoke Park members who make the successful bids will win themselves and their golfing mates the opportunity to play on one of nine of the best and exclusive courses in England.

They include Wentworth, Walton Heath or Woburn, Sunningdale, Saunton or Hayling, Bearwood Lakes, The Brabazon at The Belfry or The Grove.

Each of Stoke Park’s PGA Professionals will accompany three (or two in the case of Saunton and Wentworth) golfers at one of these nine wonderful courses, and if any of the bidders were worrying about the travel time to Saunton, they don’t have to worry because a private helicopter has been laid on!

Given the stature of these courses, Collier’s looking forward to generating what he hopes will be a suitably impressive amount for The PGA Benevolent Fund.

He said: “These nine opportunities can only be bid for by our members through our silent auction, and represent much more than a day out playing golf.

“They’ll be bidding for some of the most exclusive experiences that golf can offer, and given it’s all in aid of The PGA Benevolent Fund, we’re all hoping Stoke Park’s members show their support through their bids.”

Established at the founding of the Association back in 1901, The PGA Benevolent Fund is a charity that continues to assist PGA Members in hardship or distress, and each year offers help and support in a number of ways.  The fund remains an important element of The PGA’s work and is one of the many ways it supports its Members.
