PGA Professional Alan Bradshaw has described working as part of a five-man coaching team at the Ryder Cup as a ‘dream come true’.

Bradshaw, alongside fellow Great Britain & Ireland pros Jamie Cundy and Peter Ball, has been providing free 15-minute lessons at the PGA Academy in the Ryder Cup fan village.

Alan Bradshaw used to coach at Le Golf National earlier in his career and admits it has been an emotional return.

“It’s a privilege and an honour to be representing The PGA at the Ryder Cup,” said Bradshaw.

“This course holds a lot of memories for me, I was based here in 1991 coaching a French international player. It’s lovely to return because I haven’t been back since then.

“It’s a great golf course and it’s going to be a fantastic event. It’s a dream come true to be coaching at a Ryder Cup.”

IMG 5748Jamie Cundy (pictured right) is also appearing at his first Ryder Cup and is enjoying the experience.

He said: “There has been a great atmosphere so far. People from all over the world are here supporting Europe and America. It’s great to see people of different nationalities coming together to watch golf.

“It’s amazing how quickly you can change somebody’s golf within 15 minutes. People are very happy at the end and we get people leaving the Swingzone area with smiles on their faces.”

“We’re teaching a lot of people over from the UK, but we’re also teaching a lot of French people, Italian golfers, people from South Africa and Australia, so there’s a great variety.”

Peter Ball has past experience of working at a Ryder Cup having provided coaching lessons when the event was staged at The Belfry.

He commented: “This event is very different. It’s a lot bigger and it’s become an international event. I can’t believe the amount of people and the infrastructure here now.

“It’s an enthralling environment to work in. It’s great to see so many people want to try golf and improve their game. The coaches here to are a pleasure to work with. We’re all having lots of fun, sharing ideas so it’s been good.”
