Three for all at Rockliffe Hall

Three players were deadlocked after first round of the inaugural North East Masters at Rockliffe Hall.

On a testing day, scoring was never going to be easy but Renishaw Park’s Michael Ramsden, Abbeydale’s Gareth Davies and Bolton-based Colin Maroney contrived to stay a shot ahead of the big field.

There will be a cut within eight strokes off the lead on the second and final day final so there will still be plenty at stake.

And an added incentive is a new trophy being put up for grabs.
