Two Shot Win For Hunt At Cumberwell

St Mellons assistant Toby Hunt convincingly won the fourth of five Titleist/Footjoy West Sprint Series tests for assistants and professionals under 30 at Cumberwell Park.

His four-under-par 67 brought a two-shot win over Broadstone’s Jacob Hunter who completed the best finish of his career.

Despite dropping a shot at the first hole, Hunt birdied the fourth and fifth before completing the homeward nine in three under 34 gaining shots at the tenth, 12th and 14th.

Hunter dropped a shot at the eighth but returned with birdies at the tenth, 12th and 13th.

Lee Corfield (Burnham and Berrow), Richard Bentham (Radyr), Craig Melding (Neath) and Adam Curtis (Bude and North Cornwall) shared third on 70.

Curtis who eagled the ninth and concluded with two birdies retains the lead in the Order of Merit. The final round takes place at Tiverton on June 13.
