Guy Woodman celebrated turning 40 in style by equalling the course record at Henley with a magnificent eight-under-par 62 to win the club’s 38th annual pro-am.

Woodman Record

Birthday boy Woodman produced an excellent display of golf to equal the course record.

His round consisted of an eagle, eight birdies, seven pars and two bogeys to ensure that he finished ahead of the field.

Runner-up Greg Blainey could be forgiven for thinking that his round of 65 could have been a winning score before seeing Woodman’s scorecard. In third place was Billy Hemstock who rounded the challenging layout in 67.

Earlier in the week, the PGA in BB&O were at the superb Oxfordshire layout where three players, Adam Wootton, Jamie Cook and Paul Simpson, all scored two-under-par 70’s on a blustery day to finish as joint winners.
