ProAgenda.com’s Guy Woodman pulled out a stunning 64* to retain his title at the Knole Park Pro-Am, taking home a handy £850 for his winning round of six-under-par.

Starting on the fifth hole, Woodman made seven birdies after 14 holes, but although an untidy dropped shot at the second, his 15th, threatened to spoil things, Woodman bounced straight back with a birdie at the third and two more pars earned him pole position by two shots for the second time in two years.

In the runners up spot Lee-on-the-Solent’s lefty star James Ablett had two bogeys in an otherwise stylish round of 66 to take home £700, while Bob Cameron’s 67 was worth third place and £550.

Woodman’s birdie three holes from the finish also helped him lead his three amateurs home to pick up the team title as well, beating Sittingbourne’s Peter Appleyard’s team on a count back.

Commenting on the day Woodman said: “My golf’s been a bit hit and miss, with an early win in the Winter Series at The Berkshire and some good finishes elsewhere, but winning here is a real boost.”

He continued: “My putting made all the difference this time, and as Knole’s in terrific condition, the putts were rolling in as planned.

"The weather was ideal and of course I’ve got some previous form around here which always helps. It’s great to notch up this win both because it’s now two years on the trot, and because it sets me up nicely for the rest of the season."
