Woodman Splits Field At Farnham

A day after his victory in the North Hants Invitational Pro-Am, ProAgenda.com’s Guy Woodman took route 66 to notch up his fourth win of the season, the Farnham Charity Pro-Am.

Ever modest about his achievements, the popular Woodman commented: “I’ve got some great memories of Farnham from playing in the last few year’s Order of Merit events, and so I like it here and I think the course likes me. I got into the groove at North Hants yesterday, and luckily I managed to stay in it today and make the most of it!”

He added: “I found the greens very much to my liking. I played with some great Farnham members today, and we all had a ball – no pun intended! – so it was really nice when they took away some prizes too.”

While Riching Park’s Chris Rodgers was looking good as the leader in the clubhouse on four-under-par 68 for his fourth win of 2018, Woodman swept all before him with a stunning display that included seven birdies and one eagle.

He also edged out Barnehurst’s Jordan Godwin who shared the runner up spot with Rodgers. The Farnham course proved challenging as usual and of the 43 strong field that was probably the best of the season to date, only 13 players finishing on par or better.

In the team event, Martin Janssen led his amateurs to a well deserved top prize with -22, four strokes better than the teams of Woodman and Godwin.

It’s now all eyes on the first major of the Virgin Atlantic PGA South Order of Merit schedule, the PGA Southern Open Championship at Cooden Beach Golf Club on the 18th and 19th June.
