Report From Saffron Walden Pro Am

Saffron Walden Golf Club is celebrating its centenary in 2019 and the PGA in Essex was delighted to make a visit to this beautiful golf course for the 2019 Essex PGA Pro-Am.

Only two Professionals broke the tough par of 72, the winner by one stroke being Robert Coles from Maylands Golf and Country Club on 2 under par beating home Professional Sarah Smith who returned a very creditable 71. In third place was Ben Wyatt from the Rayleigh Club with a one over par 73.

Sarah Smith made up for missing out on the individual title by leading her team of Saffron Walden ladies to the team prize with an impressive 84 points to win by one point from the teams with Professionals Chris Cutchie and Ben Wyatt.

Prizes were presented by the Essex PGA Vice Captain, Roger Gray.
