Report From Toot Hill Pro Am

A full field of 30 teams enjoyed Toot Hill Golf Course presented, as always, in pristine condition with fast greens which took many players used to slow winter greens by surprise.

A stunning 4 under par 66 by Jack Winer from Abridge Golf and Country Club was enough to take the Pro event by 2 shots from in-form Robert Coles from Maylands Golf and Country Club. No less than 7 birdies contributed to a great winning score from Winer in only his second outing of the year. In joint third spot were Lloyd Kennedy from Chelmsford Golf Club and Mark Stokes from Bishops Stortford Golf Club on one under 69.

The team event was closely fought and there were countbacks for most of the placings. Prevailing on 85 points were the team with Professional Marc Dodd including amateurs Mark Lingwood, Luke Elliot and Adam Pope. Also on 85 points but on the wrong side of the countback were the team with Professional Mark Stokes.

The prizes were presented by Essex PGA Captain Craig Laurence.
