While incorporating significant chunks of greater London, Middlesex is more than up to scratch when it comes to golf with an array of superb courses for golfers to enjoy.
Among its best is Crews Hill which is surrounded by rolling countryside and, according to the club’s website, is often referred to as “The Jewel of the North!” (north London that is).
Nevertheless the Harry Colt designed track is a fine test as is West Middlesex (pictured above) which was established in 1891 with the original course designed by Willie Park Junior.
In 1910 the legendary five times Open Champion James Braid – one third of the Great Triumverate (pictured below coaching at Harrods in 1914) - redesigned the golf course and his legacy is an outstanding parkland course.
Other golfing attractions in the county include Stockley Pines which was opened in 1993 and has hosted European Senior and Challenge Tour event.
Another favourite is Pinner Hill nestled amidst rolling parkland and mature woods capped by its historic clubhouse.
