Jason Timmis followed up an encouraging display in the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters by winning the Jelson Homes Pro-Am to take his earnings for the week past £2,000.
Timmis, who is attached to Greenway Hall Golf Club, Staffordshire, earned £1,275 as a result of finishing tied sixth in the PGA Europro Tour event at Montrose Golf Links.
Then on the following day and showing no ill-effects from the lengthy journey from Scotland, he claimed the £850 cheque for winning the pro-am at Rothley Park, Leicestershire.
However, he had to survive a late wobble to clinch victory. Five-under after the 12th hole and seemingly heading for a comfortable win, Timmis posted three bogeys and a birdie on the last six holes for a three-under-par round of 68.
But that was just enough to repel the challenges of the trio who finished tied third: Daniel Wood (Golfers Choice), Neil Evans (abcgolf) and Christopher Evans (Hatchford Brook).
They posted scores of two-under, one better than the only other player under-par, Sutton Coldfield’s Andrew Cheese.
Meanwhile, Sean Byrne (Beedles Lake) captained the victorious team in the pro-am while Andrew Willey and his trio of amateurs were second.
