Head PGA Professional Matt Paget’s pro shop has seen record sales since a £80,000 facelift based on successful high street retail outlets was completed by SDI.
Utilising the same footprint, the pro shop at Royal Mid-Surrey now offers customers a more relaxed shopping experience, with greater space for browsing and clearly branded product areas.
Innovations include: a stand housing 250 clubs; a dedicated wall with golf shoes displayed in pairs; 10 iPads for viewing colour options; and three TV screens for marketing that also feature a flyover video of the course.
With a team of nine PGA Professionals and Assistants, Paget is excited by the early results.
He said: “It has more than paid off given the response from members and visitors, which has also motivated our award-winning staff.
“Despite the poor early season weather, we’ve enjoyed a really strong April and the best start to May we’ve ever had.
“Sales of footwear have risen dramatically since the shoe wall was introduced and we’ve had similar reaction to the better displayed bags and trolleys.”
The new shop presentation is split between men’s and women’s lines; there is also a performance studio for custom-fitting that features the latest Trackman 4 launch monitor and customised screen.
