Consistency was the key to success for Michael Ramsden when he won the PGA North Michael Slater Memorial Order of Merit title.
The Renishaw Park professional teed off the campaign by birdying four of the last eight holes to clinch the Leeds Cup at Cobble Hall.
He then shared third place in the PGA North Region Championship at Bolton Old Links and was joint fifth in the James Brearley Lancashire Open and the season-ending MTS Group Final at Carus Green.
And he also enjoyed success in his native Yorkshire with several high finishes.
“I maintained a steady season and finished off the job at Carus Green,” he reflected.
“I’ve been consistent with my driving and did not miss many fairways so that made the game easier. Winning the Leeds Cup gave me the confidence to start believing in myself.
“I needed to get over the line and once I did I started to compete and that helped me to get into the PGA Play-Offs.
“I really want that Wentworth spot. Whatever happens I’m a club pro and time’s limited but I’m not scared because I know I can compete with anyone.”
He added: “My experiences this season with PGA North and Yorkshire have kept my confidence high.”
