Langdon claims win number four

12 Apr 19

Ross Langdon achieved back-to-back wins in the Gloucester and Somerset PGA medals with a one-shot  victory at Orchardleigh.

The Brickhampton Court  player followed success at Forest Hills by shooting the only sub-par round of one-under 71 at the Somerset course at Frome.

He finished  one clear of Enmore Park’s David Dixon with  Total Triumph Order of Merit leader Ed Goodwin (Cirencester)  third on 73.

Langdon reached the turn in 34 strokes with seven pars and two birdies at the second and eighth. He made eight pars and his solitary bogey of the round came at the 11th as he registered his fourth win of the season.

Dixon made three birdies and three bogeys to share the birdie sweep with Daryl Kelley (The Bristol) and Luke Derrick (Henbury).

Goodwin’s  solid performance was marred when he dropped shots at the final two holes. George Ryall  (Mendip Spring) was fifth on 75 one ahead of Gloucester Rugby star Matt Banahan.

Goodwin extended his OOM lead to just over 40 points as Filton’s Giuseppe Licata struggled.
