Giuseppe Licata made a closing birdie three to win the second round of the Gloucester and Somerset PGA Total Triumph Summer Series at Naunton Downs by one shot.
After sharing first place with Paul Barrington last month at Brean, the Chipping Sodbury player won outright in the Cotswolds with a three-under-par 68 in glorious summer sunshine.
He now leads the points table and is favourite to add another title after success in the Winter Order of Merit.
Boosted by recent coaching from Nicky Lumb, he carded six birdies. The first two at the first and fifth aided a bogey-free front nine.
A double bogey on the par five 10th was followed by further gains at the 12th, 13th 17th marred by his only other dropped shot at the tricky dogleg 15th.
Ed Goodwin (Cirencester) overcame a sore foot to record five birdies and share second with George Ryall who was unusually erratic.
He racked up seven birdies to win the birdie sweep but dropped two early shots and made a triple bogey seven at the 15th.
Stinchcombe Hill assistant Mark Pitcher and Filton’s head professional Daryl Kelley shared fourth on 72.
