England and Wales (South West) Region

New rule for Sprint Series in the West

06 Mar 18

A new rule has been introduced to the extended season-opening Titleist and Footjoy Sprint Series for assistants and young professionals under 30 by the PGA in England and Wales (South West).

Instead of having to commit to enter all five stages before the closing date for the opening event, eligible players can pick and choose when they play.

Regional manager Robert Moss said: “This gives players greater flexibility as some may not be available for every fixture. But it is obviously in their best interests to play in them all as there are generous prizes on offer for the leading five players overall from our sponsor Titleist and Footjoy.”

The season kicks off in South Wales at Radyr Golf Club on April 5 and the closing date for entries at both Radyr and the second event at Weston-super-Mare a week later is next Monday March 10. Regular stages follow at Cumberwell Park and Minehead and West Somerset. The leading five players will be known after the final fixture at Yelverton on May 22.
